City building by its very nature is about the future. What we build today we will live with for the next 50 years at least. So, we need to keep in mind that cities are more than shelter and conveniences. Cities have always been the habitat of the human spirit. Densely populated urban areas have been the birthplace of inventions, new forms of collaboration, social interaction and the ideas that make living a joyful and vibrant experience.

In this talk, Paul Kalbfleisch considers the state of our society in which isolation, loneliness, and distrust are at record highs and explains how cities should facilitate social interaction between citizens to directly improve social and economic prosperity and save the world.
