Title: The Great Canadian Songbook
Venue: Fergus Grand Theatre
Description:
This is your country. This is your theatre. This is your music.

The Great Canadian Songbook is a celebration of Canada’s musical history, from coast to coast to coast. The show includes traditional tunes, timeless classics by everyone from Stan Rogers and Stompin’ Tom to Blue Rodeo and The Barenaked Ladies, as well as original songs about this great country, all packed into one special evening.

Singer Ken Lavigne has charmed his way into the hearts of concert goers across North America with his exciting blend of classical tenor sound and modern style. Ken is a singer, songwriter, storyteller and consummate entertainer. As one of the tightest most focused folk bands in the nation, Tiller’s Folly continues to make music that is both distinctly Canadian and firmly rooted in the acoustic tradition as they celebrate their 20th Anniversary in 2017! They are modern day storytellers of lore, uniting past with the present. Diyet - Born in a tent, raised in a two room cabin, classically trained in opera, is now an alternative folk artist. This sub-Arctic-Southern Tutchone-Japanese-Tlingit-Scottish-Yukoner is your typical Canadian - the result of a long cold winter. Diyet’s music is like her life - a mix of this and that but deeply rooted in the values of a traditional northern life.

This show kicks off the Fergus Grand Theatre presenting series, and marks the official grand re-opening after our summer of renovations. Join us in celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary, and the start of a new chapter for the performing arts in Centre Wellington.
