KUNÉ (together) is a music collective made up of ten immigrant musicians from all over the world and one Metis. KUNÉ’s music gathers sounds from all over the world and brings them together through collaboration and experimentation. From the Chinese dizi, to the Iranian tar, the ngoni from Burkina Faso to the berimbau from Brazil, instruments and traditions from across the globe create a sound that is at once familiar and fresh. KUNÉ has toured in the US and has performed in major venues and festivals in Canada. KUNÉ is currently working on a new album focused on cases of imprisoned and disappeared human rights defenders. |
