Description:

What Outdoor Skating Rinks Teach Us About Climate Change
Dr. Robert McLeman, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Faculty of Arts

Few experiences are more quintessentially Canadian than skating on an outdoor rink on a frosty winter day. But will climate change one day make outdoor skating a thing of the past?  Laurier geographer Robert McLeman shares findings from RinkWatch, a citizen science project that collects daily skating conditions from backyard rink makers across North America and uses that data to better understand how our winters are changing.

The lecture series is a partnership between the
Town of MiltonWilfrid Laurier University, and the Milton Public Library.

Admission is free. No registration is required. All lectures take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
