Gwyne Dyer: The Trump Era - Populism and the Future of Democracy  Wed. March 23, 2018 7pm  $5.00 all incl  Talk will begin at 7pm for an hour followed by a Q & A.
Brexit in Britain, Trump in America. Maybe Le Pen in France. The populist revolt continues, fueled by the belief that foreigners (the EU, Mexicans, Chinese, immigrants) are stealing the good jobs. But what's really killing the jobs is automation. GWYNNE DYER has worked as a freelance journalist, columnist, broadcaster and lecturer on international affairs for more that 20 years. Originally training as a historian, he received degrees from Canadian, American and British Universities, finishing with a Ph.D in Military and Middle Eastern History from the University of London. Dyer served in three navies and held academic appts. at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Oxford University before launching his twice-weekly column on international affairs, which is published by over 175 papers in some 45 countries. Dyer has written and produced for television, film and radio. His television series War was aired in 45 countries of which the episode "The Profession of Arms" was nominated for an Academy Award.
