About the film: SHORELINE: The Paddle Against Plastic is an environmental documentary that highlights the problem of plastic pollution in the great lakes. The story follows A Greener Future's Executive Director, Rochelle Byrne, as she embarks on a 430 km paddle journey across Lake Ontario to raise awareness about the impact of plastic on the environment under the looming shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the documentarian: Rochelle Byrne is the Executive Director and Founder of A Greener Future. Rochelle founded A Greener Future in 2014 after coordinating a shoreline cleanup in her community and deciding that one cleanup per year just wasn't enough. The experience of picking up garbage eventually led her toward the zero waste movement. She lives a low-waste lifestyle with her husband, Mike, and her 7-year-old son, Linden. Rochelle has completed eight years of environmental post-secondary education and has held several employment positions related to environmental education at Fleming College, the Riverview Park and Zoo, and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Rochelle is the 2017 Environment Award recipient for the City of Pickering and the first person to stand up paddle 430 km across Lake Ontario, raising awareness about plastic pollution.
