Title: Wheel Thrown Pottery for Beginners- Fall 2017
Venue: Studio Two
Description:
$215 plus HST. (Culture vulture member discount applies)

Week One – Centring clay, opening, raising up the wall.
Week Two – Throwing cylinders and bowls.
Week Three – Throwing cylinders and bowls, larger, wider and taller forms.
Week Four – Throwing cylinders and bowls, larger, wider and taller forms.
Week Five – Trimming with and without a raised foot and trimming using a chuck.
Week Six- Cylinders.
Week Seven– Cylinders as mugs, vases and pitchers.
Week Eight – Pulling and attaching handles, throwing collared in forms.
Week Nine – Trimming.
Week Ten - Glazing intro, dips, pours and underglazes.

The focus of this class will be to learn and practice skills on the potter’s wheel that will help the participants create some basic functional pottery forms

Please bring an old towel to cover your knees when sitting at the wheel and a hand towel.

Class maximum eight participants.
