A staggering 11-time performer at Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, Derek has appeared at virtually every major comedy festival in Canada while becoming a familiar face and voice on television and radio.

His ability to steal the show has become something of a habit. After watching Derek perform at Just For Laughs, GQ Magazine’s Comedy Editor wrote that he had stolen a star-studded gala hosted by Whitney Cummings — then returned the following year for The Nasty Show and “proceeded to steal that too,” calling him “a true star and Montreal’s pride and joy.”

The Montreal Gazette was equally enthusiastic after Derek earned a standing ovation at a Just For Laughs gala, describing themselves as “gasping for air” from laughing so hard and calling his performance simply “Brilliant.”

Derek is also one of the most popular recurring performers on CBC Radio’s "The Debaters", with more than 40 appearances and counting.

Derek beat out comedians from across the country to capture the grand prize in SiriusXM’s Canada’s Top Comic, cementing his place among the elite of Canadian stand-up.
