The Trail & District Arts Council presents The Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble with a special holiday program, “A Jazzy Christmas”, on Thursday, December 17 at 7:30 pm at The Bailey Theatre as part of the Performing Arts Trail series.
Alto saxophone master Rémi Bolduc revisits the greatest Christmas tunes, both the classics and the lesser-known ones, adding his unique touch of blue for the delight of jazz lovers. Christmas + jazz = a perfect evening!

Rémi Bolduc is a highly accomplished and respected jazz saxophonist and educator
with over 40 years of experience in the music industry. He is an associate professor at
the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal.
Bolduc's dedication to his craft and impressive body of work have made him a highly
regarded figure in the world of jazz. As a musician, Bolduc has released 11 jazz albums, featuring collaborations with notable musicians such as Kenny Werner, Marc Johnson, Ben Monder, and Jerry Bergonzi.
Bolduc's musical talent and expertise have earned him a dedicated following, with
audiences captivated by his dazzling virtuosity and mature musical style. Since his
arrival in Montreal in 1982, he has participated in numerous projects and has been a member of various bands, including the Bernard Primeau Jazz Ensemble and the Vic Vogel Big Band, and has worked with saxophonists like Sayyd Abdul Al-Khabyyr, Simon Stone, and Bob Mover.
One of his most notable projects is the CD "Tribute to Charlie Parker," which won the
FÉLIX award for Best Jazz Album at the 2011 ADISQ. He is also a multiple Opus Prize Winner for Jazz Concert of the Year in 2021 and 2013.
Beyond his musical achievements, he is a Yamaha Artist and D’Addario Canada Artist and has also designed three saxophone models for the Expression company, which bear his name.

CaneFire: Caribbean Jazz- Wednesday, March 24 at 7:30 pm. Dynamic and intense CaneFire creates music fashioned out of a myriad of Caribbean and Latin traditions. Pianist and composer Jeremy Ledbetter brings together band members from Canada, Cuba and Trinidad for an original sound featuring the steelpan at the front of this latin jazz combo, alongside horns, drums, bass and sax.
Artsclub Theatre: Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women- Thursday, April 1 at 7:30 pm. This coming-of-age favourite invites audiences to rediscover one of the most cherished stories in literature with a fresh and inventive stage adaptation. Set in 19th-century New England, the play follows the four March sisters as they navigate love, loss, and the difficulties of young adulthood during the Civil War.
Symphony of the Kootenays: Mirrors of the Mind - Sunday, April 11 at 2 pm. Listen to music shaped by the human spirit in all its complexity as we explore the inner landscapes of great composers, from Beethoven’s luminous lyricism to the haunting stillness of Pärt, the passion of Schumann, the clarity of Britten, and the yearning beauty of Tchaikovsky.
